Some UW-Stevens Point employees found their jobs shift recently to do work that supports healthcare providers and first responders needing protection from COVID-19.

Facilities services carpenter Todd Wipperfurth, communications engineer Matt Biersack and welder Phil Pawelski, with the help of university printing services and the building and grounds staff, came together to find the necessary materials to create face shields using three-dimensional printers.

The first 200 face shields were given to Copperleaf Senior Living Center in Stevens Point.
