For the first time in its 34-year history, Wisconsin will host the Veteran Golden Age Games. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the games provide eligible veterans age 55 and over with the opportunity to engage in rehabilitative sport and recreation competition.

They will be held June 22-27 in Madison and are open to veterans who receive healthcare from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. There are eight age categories, 55 to 90 plus, as well as ambulatory, wheelchair and visually-impaired categories.

The National Veterans Golden Age Games is the only national multi-event sports and recreational seniors’ competition program designed to improve the quality of life for all older veterans. The games’ motto is “Fitness for Life.”
