The Northwoods United Way in Rhinelander held a face-mask packet giveaway at four area Associated Bank branches. The masks will be given out in quantities of 20, with one packet given to each car that came to the distribution event until supplies ran out.

“These face masks will give our populations another level of protection while shopping for essentials, getting fuel, and going to appoint - ments,” said Nancy Sattler, executive director of the Northwoods United Way.

Masks were available for pickup at Associated Banks in Crandon, Rhinelander, Eagle River and Minocqua. A best practices sheet was included with each packet of masks.

The face masks were handed out by masked United Way volunteers and the drivers didn’t have to get out of their cars to get the packet.

Funding for the mask give-away was made possible by donations to the Northwoods United Way Covid-19 Community Response Fund. For more information, contact Sattler at 715-202- 3344 or at
