enjamin Nusz is the new dean at Mid-State Technical College in Stevens Point. Nusz has taught in the college’s renewable energy technician and HVAC programs since 2008. He replaces Volker Gaul who served in the campus dean role from May 2015 until his retirement in January.
Nusz has a master’s degree in environmental science and policy-environmental policy and administration from the University of WisconsinGreen Bay. As an instructor, he drew on more than 15 years of experience as an installer, site assessor, designer, project manager and instructor. Nusz also is the solar water heating instructor for the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA).
Nusz previously served as vice president on the board of directors for the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and volunteers for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, Farmshed and the Tomorrow River Community Charter Schools. He also provided leadership in the past three Grow Solar Central Wisconsin initiatives, partnering with local communities to make solar more affordable and accessible for homes and businesses throughout central Wisconsin.
With campuses in Adams, Marshfield, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids, the College district serves a resident population of approximately 172,421.
