STEVENS POINT, WI  (February 22, 2019)  -- The Portage County Business Council will be hosting a candidate forum for the six school board candidates.  The forum will take place Friday, March 8 from 7:30-9:00 AM at the Portage County Business Council in their Foundation Room. 

The spring election will be held Tuesday, April 2 and three seats on the board are up for election.  The top three vote-getters in the election will get three-year terms. The six candidates are: Jeffery Ebel (I), Gee Pope, Barb Portzen (I), Kurt Pulvermacher, Jodi L. Rentfrow, and Ann Vang.

Each candidate will be allowed opening and closing remarks.  Prepared questions for the candidates will be presented by the moderator to ensure specific topics are covered. If time permits, audience members will be able to submit questions for consideration.

The Portage County Business Council will not be endorsing any candidate.  We are offering this forum as an opportunity for our members and the public to learn more about this school board election, the position and responsibilities, and experience / viewpoints of the candidates.
