With in-person meetings suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the community, the Rotary Club of Stevens Point is using money that would have typically been used to pay for member lunches to purchase $4,000 in local gift certificates. The gift certificates were split in half and distributed to the Salvation Army locally and the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) of Portage County. These organizations will be distributing the gift cards to people in need.

“The coronvirus pandemic has put many families throughout Portage County in a financial bind,” said Rotary Club of Stevens Point President Dave Acaley. “This is our way of giving back to the Stevens Point Area residents in a time of need.
